Virtual Private Server (VPS) technology was developed over 10 years ago, based on the concept of a "virtual machine." Virtualization software partitions the resources of a single, shared physical server between multiple accounts with the benefits and performance of a dedicated server.
Virtual Power: In addition to providing a fully isolated ‘virtual’ server environment, very few Virtual Private Server accounts reside on each shared server, giving customers increased power and performance.

FairShare TECHNOLOGY
The high-performance approach to resource management
FairShare technology manages how each VPS uses processing power, memory and network resources. Each is allocated its "fair share" and isolated from others on the same server, thereby protecting the individual account from the problems of others. A fault in one application running within a VPS account does not affect any applications running on other VPS accounts on the same physical server. Each is allocated its own disk space and processes, which cannot be abused by a "neighboring" account. Usage thresholds are implemented, monitored and enforced. As a result, websites and applications perform consistently and reliably.

Our system delivery allows websites to more effectively present their static and rich media content through reverse proxy caching and global server load balancing (GSLB). User audiences can cache data closer to them through strategically located servers that deliver the data, thus reducing download time and providing more server power to better handle periods of peak activity.
In addition to caching a customer's content, our solution's global server load balancing provides elements of traffic management and intelligent routing, which enable the redirection of end user requests to the most optimal servers containing the requested content. The new service incorporates border gateway protocol (BGP) anycast technology, which efficiently routes requests to the nearest domain name system (DNS) server, making maximum use of our network's management under a single autonomous system (AS). This model greatly reduces DNS look-up time and improves total performance. System compatibility covers a variety of protocols. In addition to static content like HTTP for text and static images, our Smart Content Delivery solution is especially powerful with Windows Media, Real Player and Quicktime files.
